Tippers employees John Cresswell and David Spencer are preparing for a challenge to raise much needed funds for a charity supported by Tippers.

John Cresswell (IDT Driver) and David Spencer (Haymills Yard) are taking part in a Coast to Coast bike ride between 12th and 16th September 2022, taking a weeks holiday from work to travel and complete the challenge.

John and David will be celebrating their 60th birthdays this year and are in training for the charity ride and have planned to complete the 140 mile ride in 3 days, camping each evening along the way.

By setting up an online fundraising page, John and David aim to raise £1000 in donations from friends, colleagues and the wider public on behalf of Tippers for Acorns Hospice. Local charities (especially hospices) have struggled to raise the funds they need to operate in the last few years and Acorns is a cause close to many peoples hearts. John want to give something back on behalf of others.

John and David are using his annual leave to do this challenge and spending spare time training and preparing thoroughly. John is a volunteer bike mechanic for Lichfield Re:Cycle bike recycling charity.
