Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.I've set it up so that my friends, family and any other lovely people who read this can, if they wish, give a few bob or several quid, towards the cost of finding a cure for Parkinson's Disease.
It wasn't until I was told in 2009 that I had the disease that I became aware of how many people are fellow sufferers. In the UK alone, every hour someone is told they have Parkinson's and one person in every 500 has it - that's about 127,000 people.
As you may well know, it's a long-term neurological condition that affects the way the brain co-ordinates body movements such as walking, talking, eating, smiling or getting dressed. It is unpredictable and can also cause Irregular sleep patterns, lack of balance and much more.
Despite the endless tablets consumed daily and the marvellous help, advice and care available the inevitable reality is that most if not all sufferers’ condition will get worse as currently there is no known cure.
I believe that one day, but maybe not in my lifetime, further research, funding and exploration into the illness will result in a cure.
In the meantime I plan to keep on keeping on!
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure and once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.
