We are doing this in memory of the unforgettable Lana Fishwick.

We know many of you supported John when he did his 10k run last year but we are trying to do something physically demanding (and this is the most I can manage  after having Beck) every year. It helps keep her memory alive and we know she would want us to help other children who are suffering the way she did.

Many different charities helped us and we would like to donate the money to Clic Sargent this time. They support children and young people with cancer all over the country.

They gave us money for a (really expensive) buggy that was able to carry both Lana and Cara as Lana lost the ability to walk after one of her operations.

Taking her out of the hospital and walking round the streets and parks had a profound affect on Lana.  Post operation, when she was like a wild animal, walking with her in the buggy was the only thing that calmed her and gave her some relief.  We don't know if it was the motion or the fact she was away from the hospital - even the doctors and nurses were amazed at the change that came over her. Sometimes we had to stick her in it and run out the ward really fast before one of the nurses could stop us because they really couldn't believe it would do her any good. 

We hated having to take her back and she would cry when she saw the hospital doors.
