Story

A personal story intertwines with a global story here as for some time I've been seeking more ways to give back to the Earth and all we receive from her - whilst navigating recovery from a severe dip in mental health approximately one year ago. Pacha Mama seemingly is on an never ending cycle of recovery from how we choose to relate with and consume her, yet she strives to continue to provide to this Anthropocene and the science increasingly shows we don't have long before she decides it's too late for us all.

My hair and beard were a lockdown experiment that I've continued to grow for sometime to ensure it is long enough to be able to donate to charity (but also to play Santa Claus at Christmas ho ho ho) - but now feels like the right time in my life to listen to the messages from spirit and start anew.

Not only do I intend to donate my hair to the Little Princess Trust and give them some of my own money to process the donation, I intend to also additionally donate 10% of the total amount raised here to Save the Brazilian Amazon – Rainforest Trust - which will then be quadrupled by SAVES Challenge and other generous Rainforest Trust donors - meaning your donation will go AT LEAST 40% FURTHER FINANCIALLY than the money you kindly give today! ("woah" "wowzers" "take my wallet"  I hear you say)

So please, if any of this touches you, then donate what feels right to you - and don't forget to Gift Aid! (-:

Save The Brazilian Amazon - an urgent conservation project currently quadrupling donations:

The Brazilian Amazon is under imminent threat from profit-seeking outside interests that are destroying a vital ecosystem that is critical to maintaining the health of all life on Earth. Rare and endemic species are rapidly losing forests necessary for their survival. Likewise, traditional communities living on undesignated, unprotected public lands struggle against growing pressures.

Rainforest Trust and their partner, Instituto Internacional de Educação do Brasil, will protect 2,262,878 acres in the states of Amazonas and Pará in the Brazilian Amazon for species and people who make their homes here. This protection will be achieved through designations that legally recognize land tenure of traditional communities and their long-standing role in managing their lands.

THIS PROJECT WILL STORE THE CARBON EQUIVALENT OF 73,000,000,000 GALLONS OF GASOLINE CONSUMED

From Rainforest Trust UK:

Rainforests store billions of tonnes of carbon, helping to mitigate climate change. They are also home to 50% of the world’s species (many of which are endangered) and thousands of indigenous communities rely on these forests for their survival. Yet every day we lose 70,000 acres of rainforest to deforestation. Rainforest Trust has already placed over 40 million acres under permanent protection. Please be a Rainforest Hero for the planet and make a donation to my fundraising page today!
