Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On 10th August 1914 the newly formed 1st/8th Bn Sherwood Foresters marched from Newark to Radcliffe to begin training for the trenches in France. My father, William Leslie Green, then a lance corporal, was among them and described the march in a letter home. He went on to win the Military medal and died in 1951 as a result of his WW1 wounds.
100 years later, at 79 years young, I shall re-enact the 16 mile march in WW1 uniform and rifle.
Please help me to keep going by donating to The Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal.
