A little over 4 years ago I was diagnosed with Advanced Prostate Cancer and from that point I realised  my life going forward was never going to be the same . Under the medical leadership of Mr.Andy Thomas and Mr. Jason Lester and their colleagues at the Rutherford Cancer Centre and St Thomas surgery in Haverfordwest my treatment  began to contain this horrid disease .

After 2 rounds  of radio therapy and an ongoing difficult tablet regime my wife Clare set me a challenge of getting fit  again, and this started jogging with her around Roath Park Lake in Cardiff that was approximately in total  4 miles ! She told me it was a mile !

  Initially this was so much of a struggle , but after several attempts   and each time thereafter it became easier for me ,and then I started to  feel a real sense of achievement . Those horrid dark clouds had now started to lift and I began feeling a real purpose in life again .

Since 2017 I have now run 2 Half  Marathons and the Park Run in Haverfordwest most Saturdays .

In early 2018 I I was given the news that my  cancer is spreading and was now at Stage 4 setting up home throughout my skeleton which at times make my running quite a challenge .

Since running Cardiff 2022 I’m now aware that my treatment plan is going to change  . Over the next few weeks I will be given chemo therapy to fight this disease  

So in preparation it off to the barbers for a head shave  .
