Story

As many are aware, my wife Mel was seriously ill in hospital in the summer of 2021 suffering from a blocked VP shunt.  The shunt was originally inserted due to her suffering from Hydrocephalus (A build-up of fluid in the ventricles deep within the brain, a VP shunt helps drain that fluid from the brain).  After 3 months in and out of hospital and 6 major operations, the problem was finally fixed but not without an awful lot of pain and suffering for Mel.  Having seen the affect Hydrocephalus has, (it is very scary to see someone you love, so so unwell when suffering with it) and coupled with the support that Shine showed for her whilst in hospital, I want to give back and say thank you to everyone who helped not just Mel, but myself and our two boys Oscar & Alexander as well.  I want to take on this challenge to try and help raise as much as I can for an amazing charity that also do a lot of great things for families and individuals affected by Spina Bifida, as well as Hydrocephalus.

Thank you for reading and donating!
