Story

I am running the LLHM in memory of our eldest son Theo, who died suddenly on 3rd September 2020. He was just 3 and a half years old, having a regular day at nursery, and only 2 months away from meeting his baby brother, Jack.

Theo received the best possible care from his nursery workers, doctors and paramedics who attended the scene, but he could not be saved.

Since Theo’s death was recorded as Sudden Unexplained Death in Childhood (SUDC), we’ve learned that 40 children die without reason every year in England and Wales alone: more young children than to traffic accidents, drowning or fires. That is a terrifying statistic for any parent.

Our family feels the loss of our bright, joyful, cheeky and kind boy every moment of every day, and will do for the rest of our lives.

I want to raise money to support the vital research being done by SUDC UK to better understand, and ultimately prevent, these tragedies and stop more families going through such devastating heartache.

Theo really taught me what it meant to be proud, and I hope I can do him proud in doing this half marathon.
