Story
I would have started volunteering with Streetwork two years ago, but the pandemic got in the way. While I'm waiting for the opportunity to come again, I want to do a bit of fundraising.
I'll trek the city boundary, keeping as close as I reasonably can to it on the Edinburgh side. This will take me over a few Pentland Hill tops, streets and tracks. So, starting at Caerketton in the Pentlands, I'll walk over Allermuir and East Cairn Hill, way south west of Balerno, north through Newbridge to Queensferry, along the coast through Cramond and Leith to Portobello, up the Brunstane Burn to New Hailes, and back up the old Inner Ring Road to Caerketton.
It's a full 100 km (62 miles), about 6000 feet ascent, and I'll aim to do it in about 24 hours, walking through the night, headtorch at the ready!
I'll post on Strava by way of evidence and happy to provide the route in advance (GPX) to anyone who's interested.
Thanks for looking at this. Remember, it's a really great cause!
