Emmaus Cambridge provides home and work for previously homeless people and those people choosing to live in a community environment. We collect and sell second-hand items and all proceeds support our work with homeless and marginalised people. We are part of the worldwide Emmaus Movement.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

This Autumn I am hiking the Island Peak for Emmaus Cambridge. I've been working at Emmaus Cambridge for 20 years and I've previously hiked to Kilimanjaro and Everest Basecamp to raise money for them and Emmaus UK.

This year I'm celebrating my 60th and I wanted to push myself even further. Island Peak, also known as Imja Tse, is a mountain in Sagarmatha National park of the Himalayas of eastern Nepal and it stands at an altitude of 6,189m

I'm at Emmaus Cambridge everyday, I see the amazing work they do to support people who have experienced homelessness and I also see what needs to be improved or which companions need extra help. It would mean so much to me if everyone gets behind this challenge and donates if they can, it would mean a lot to see the community supported.
