I am raising money for Benheim CDP whose staff work tirelessly to help those who have a problem with drugs.  The stories of despair and misery which drug misuse can cause are all too common but at Blenheim CDP over 70% of people are treated successfully every year.  The work of Blenheim CDP is not just about dealing with addiction it's about helping people to sort out their lives and to move on. I am proud to be the Chief Executive of Blenheim CDP and daily humbled both by the dedication of my staff and the hurdles our service users overcome. Let me share with you Waynes story as it was reported in the services users magazine at Eban, a Blenheim CDP project in Haringey.

"Wayne is a 41 year old bachelor who, like most of us, has not had much luck in life. Before he started to come to Eban his days were filled with boredom; sitting at home; alone Giro day, or hoping that someone (not friends) would knock on his door, wanting to come in and use his house to have a pipe. Hopefully he would get a pipe just for letting them in. As
Wayne said, it was not much of a life, just wasting his days, waiting to use crack. Then one day whilst talking to his social worker, he was told of Eban and, as Wayne said himself, “that’s when his life started to change.” “It brought structure to my life, friendship with people who were in a similar situation and it has given me confidence to start to mix more with people.” Now I can actually say ‘no’ to these so-called friends, who knock at my door wanting to come in and use. I feel more self-confident since I started to access Eban and the help and support is much appreciated. In fact, Eban has helped me to help myself and I’ve actually started to used less and less. So all I’ve got to say is “Thank you Eban, you’ve helped me get a big part of my life back.”
