We help the children of Cambodia escape destitution, through education and training so they can qualify for a worthwhile job and lead a dignified life.

Story

A friend recently introduced me to an inspiring charity called For A Child's Smile or Pour Un Sourire d'Enfant, since it was started by a french couple, Christian and Marie-France des Pallieres. When they visited Cambodia in 1996 they discovered children working and eating off filthy and dangerous rubbish dumps to survive. Shocked by the terrible brutality of this appalling situation, they ended up staying to help them. They began by providing basic medical care and food to the children. In the last 15 years they have built a school which is the foundation of the organistion and they have helped over 9000 children. I have seen the day to day work that they do. It is truly amazing and so many helpless, desparate children have been saved. The focus of their work is medical help, providing food, education and training to help them lead fruitful lives. It is truly a great cause and I hope you can help them.

I ran the London Marathon over 10 years ago before I turned 40 and finished with a pretty poor time. I have been training with friends for 6 months now, sometimes running up to 30 miles per week. I have lost well over 1 stone. I am really hoping to finish in under 4 hours, if I don't injure myself before the big day. Lets see!

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

I hope you are able to donate a little to help these innocent children. Thank you.
