Story

So last year I turned 40 and with an awful lot to be thankful for, I decided to up the stakes with my fundraising efforts. My family had recently found need for the support of the Anne Rowling Clinic.
So in this landmark year, this was my way of giving a little back.

I signed up for 3 half marathons in 2015 : Edinburgh Half Marathon, Great North Run and Birmingham Half Marathon. It was hard work and there were lots of ups and downs along the way but I had some great experiences which I will keep forever.

So how do you stay motivated after the euphoria disapears....well you commit to a bigger scarier challenge!!

2016 will see me attempt to complete the Paris Marathon before coming home to complete the Edinburgh Marathon 7 weeks later

Wish me luck!!!!

The Anne Rowling Regenerative Neurology Clinic is a charitable University of Edinburgh research facility focusing on a wide range of neurological conditions, especially neurodegenerative diseases.

Anne Rowling, born in 1945, was the mother of the author J.K. Rowling, famous for her Harry Potter books. Anne died in 1990 from complications related to multiple sclerosis.
In 2010, when J.K. Rowling (above) herself reached the age at which her mother died, she donated £10M to the University of Edinburgh to found a clinic in her mother’s name.

The Clinic opened in January 2013.
