🎯 Target achieved on Sunday 8th Sept. £1000.00

If I’ve learned nothing else in the past couple of years it’s that when you achieve targets, the first thing you do is raise the bar! Go again!!

So we have 6 days left before the hike, plenty of time to raise some more money for this great charity.

After attending an amazing event held in Belfast for Autism NI I decided I wanted to know more on how to help.

I thought trying to raise a few extra pounds 💷 was a good start.

Touching words from Brian Mcmullan below about his life with Harry and what it’s like to have an autistic child. We are getting so close to our target of raising £1000.00. If you can, please donate.

As you all know by now after hitting my share button non stop over the last week me and my good friend John Lorimer are doing the three peak challenge for Autism NI .

I would just like to tell you all why im personally doing it .Some may know some might not know i have a autistic son called Harry who was diagnosed with severe learning difficulties and at present is non verbal .

Harry was my first child and like every other dad i had plans for me and Harry having some boy time . Going to watch his 1st football training session playing for a team going to Ballymena and Northern Ireland games together getting away from the woman for a day becoming more like friends than father and son..

He's only 5 and the only thing that's happen is we're best friends...the other stuff i don't care if they ever happen.
I don't care because it's not important...

What i wish for Harry is people would try and understand who he is .We don't need autism awareness we need autism acceptance.
I want Harry to be able to cross a road by himself. He can't because he's no sense of danger.
I want Harry to be able to go to the toilet himself. He can't he's still in nappies .
I want Harry to Speak. He can't at the minute .He communicate with pictures .

But we just have to keep believing he will.
It's hard having a child with a disability. How do you do it ? I didn't know how to change a nappy nevermind look after a child with autism but u learn each day . Life isn't easy at times we've had are fair share of arguments in the house. Over Harry's behaviour. But we both know it isn't his fault. He didn't ask to be different.

Just because Harry looks normal doesn't mean he is .If Harry goes in to a melt down in public kicking out throwing himself to the ground. It doesn't mean he's a bad boy he can't handle his surroundings ,noises, bright lights, waiting around .I know it's hard to understand. I've been reading up on it the last 4 years and i still don't. But im trying to and so should everyone else. This is only part of my story the journey continues with hurricane Harry
