Story
This is my one and only chance to retrace the steps of the first ever marathon runner Phedippedes in 490BC. The course runs from the town of Marathon to the city of Athens and is mostly uphill. This may explain why at the end of the run he shouted 'We have won' and then collapsed and died.
I hope to be in a position to shout something at the end of the 26.2 miles, whether it is something that can be easily translated will be another matter.
