JOGLE - from John o groats to lands end · 2 August 2022

Every day in the UK, another 240 people wake up to the catastrophic impact of a stroke. The Stroke Association is the only charity in the UK providing lifelong support for all stroke survivors and their families.

Story

Why JOGLE rather than LEJOG ?    1000 miles and over 50,000ft of climbing either way so why do it the hard way Into the prevailing wind ?  I have no good answer but at least it’s downhill and being Scottish it just feels the right direction to me.

My father died around 15 years ago of stroke. He had his first stroke in 2000 and multiple mini strokes thereafter before he finally passed away in 2007.  The stroke association does amazing work to rehabilitate after strokes and allow people to get back to living.  I was recently amazed and inspired to talk with the survivor of nine strokes who was just full of life.

It’s a great cause .

When stroke strikes, part of your brain shuts down. And so does a part of you. Life changes instantly and recovery is tough. But the brain can adapt. The Stroke Association support, research and campaigning are only possible with the courage and determination of the stroke community. With more donations and support from you, we can rebuild even more lives.
