Ocean Youth Trust (OYT) Scotland is an award-winning voluntary organisation and youth work charity. For 25 years, we have been transforming the lives of disadvantaged young people through residential youth work voyages. To date, the Trust has supported more than 16,000 young people aged 12-25 from a range of backgrounds and circumstances across Scotland.

Story

Thank you to everyone who has donated so generously.  Don't stop now as the more we can raise the more kids will get a chance to prove themselves "before the mast!"

As you may know, every couple of years I like to accept a tough challenge and this year I am determined to sail from Oban on the West coast of Scotland to St Kilda, a group of islands which lie in the North Atlantic to the West of the Hebrides, and back; a trip of about 300 nautical miles.

The yacht belongs to the Ocean Youth Trust which provides sailing adventures for youngsters.  I have set a high target for fundraising so I need you to help me get there. Even a small amount can help make a difference.

Joining me on this mad adventure are my good friends Yannis Dimarakis, who runs Scotwork in Greece, and Kenneth Chrystie who is trying to be a retired lawyer and failing miserably.

We reckon the biggest challenge will be surviving for 7 days without alcohol, but it's all in a good cause.
