Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
This year I have decided to take on two challenges in order to raise money for Unicef, an organisation that helps children in danger, for example because of war, disease, hunger or natural disaster.
On Sunday August 4 I'm taking part in Prudential RideLondon, a 100 mile cycle ride through central London and Surrey. I have never ridden that far before. It is the cycling equivalent of a marathon.
Once I complete RideLondon I will start training for the Swim Serpentine 2 mile swim, which takes place on Saturday September 21. The furthest I have ever swum before is 1500m, so this too will be a significant test of my endurance, particularly since I will have less than seven weeks to prepare for it.
By sponsoring me you will help to save the lives of children all over the world:
- Unicef operates in 190 countries round the world.
- Unicef operates in more countries and helps more children than any other humanitarian organisation.
- Unicef does whatever it takes to reach vulnerable children, from stopping wars to trekking through the remotest deserts.
- Unicef provides vaccines for more than a third of the world’s children.
- Unicef provides 80 per cent of the world’s life-saving emergency food.
