Story
Last year, I got to learn all about Bury Hospice as my video production company Pixelwave Creative captured its brilliant Strictly Best Foot Forward fundraising event on film.
Bury Hospice delivers medical care to people in the borough of Bury who are living with a life-threatening illness, while also supporting their families and carers.
Its services are free to people, with Bury Hospice receiving some government funding but the remaining funds are achieved through fundraising and charitable donations.
However, following Covid-19 restrictions, the Hospice has had to close its shops and warehouses, and put its community fundraising on hold.
Pixelwave Creative has chosen to support the Hospice as our ‘charity of the year’.
My personal fundraising plan for the Hospice this year, was to take part in the Bury 10k on 20 September, but with many races already falling by the wayside due to the coronavirus, I’m putting into place ‘Plan B’.
I will attempt to run 10,000 metres (10km) every week for the rest of 2020 – that works out at 300,000 metres (300km) from now until the end of the year – or the equivalent of about SEVEN marathons!
As well as your motivational support to keep me going through seasonal rain or shine, Bury Hospice will benefit hugely from your sponsorship.
