We are a UK charity dedicated to protecting Asia's unique wildlife. We founded and manage the Dao Tien Endangered Primate Species Centre in south Vietnam, where rescued primates are given sanctuary and care. Healthy primates are released when ready and monitored. Find out more: www.go-east.org

Story

Everest base camp / Kalapatter challenge

In October I will be heading to the Himalaya (with others) to take on the challenge of eight days trekking in to reach Everest base camp at 5364m (17,600ft). Then on to climb Kalapatter 5545m (18,192ft).

Every penny I raise will be going to EAST (Endangered Asian Species Trust) http://www.go-east.org for their important work in rescue, rehabilitation and conservation work. I'm looking to raise £3000 for 20 radio collars, a receiver, and an aerial for vital monitoring of released pygmy slow loris.

Pygmy loris are illegally hunted for their meat, traditional medicine and for the pet trade. A huge influx of about 40 animals arriving at in recent months means these collars are really needed to get animals released back into the wild. By being able to monitor them vital information is gained increasing the success of reintroductions.

So please sponsor me to make my blood sweat and tears worthwhile for these amazingly beautiful animals, whatever you can spare it all will make a difference. I’ll update on training progress and give more on EAST’s important work.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
