Hello

As most of you are aware, my Mum (The one & only Lynne Tinsdale) sadly past away at home back on 27^th of October 2021 after contracting Bronchopneumonia, which came just 4 days after mine and Rach’s wedding. She also battled with COPD for a lot of her life
and really struggled with her breathing and mobility at times, which in turn had a huge impact on her Mental Health. She battled on though, and fought hard each and everyday never giving up, no matter how much pain and suffering she was going through, she always had a smile on her face and was always there for her family and friends who meant the world to her. The hole she has left in all our lives is absolutely unbearable and is something that will never be filled. There isn’t an hour that goes by that we all don’t think of her or miss her and I know we would all give absolutely anything to be able to just see her again or go and have a cuppa and a chat.

So with that in mind, Me and Rach are doing the York 10k again this year on Sunday 7^th of August and thought it would be really nice to try raise a bit of money for the incredible Asthma + Lung UK Charity (Formerly BLF – British Lung Foundation), which meant so much to my Mum and to help them fund lifesaving research to support everyone and their families who are affected by Lung Disease. Over the years my Mum received so much incredible support and care for her condition, which she was immensely grateful for so we want to try give something back for everything they did for us. 

The statistics for Lung Disease are very scary and just some of them are below:

Somebody dies from some form of lung disease in the UK every 5 minutes and around 10,000 people in the UK are newly diagnosed with a lung disease every single week

Lung disease is now the 3^rd most common cause of death, costing the NHS more than £9 billion every year

Lung diseases are responsible for more than 700,000 hospital admissions and over 6 million inpatient bed-days in the UK each year

Approximately 1 in 5 people in the UK have developed Asthma, COPD or another long term respiratory illness in their lifetime and half of them are currently on treatment for lung disease.

We know just how difficult the world is at the moment with everything that we have all been through and continue to go through and struggle with on a daily basis, so if anyone can spare any loose change, it would mean everything to us and be very much appreciated, as every little helps no matter how small.
