We provide help and hope to everyone living with dementia.

Story

Mom was taken ill in May 2015, so Dad came to live with me, Rachael and the boys. Whilst he was living with us it became clear that his memory wasn't as good as it should be.

After a challenging time he was finally diagnosed with having two forms of dementia last October. Not what we wanted, but having a diagnosis has helped us to understand how best to manage his symptoms.

He now takes tablets to slow the illness down but it will not stop it and his brain continues to fail. He gets easily confused and upset and variances to his daily routine distress him.

Simple things such as making a drink if your thirsty or opening a window if your warm he just doesn't think of, his brain doesn't tell him to do these things, you have to think for him.

It is because of this horrible illness that I have decided to volunteer to cycle circa 168 miles from London to Birmingham on 25th and 26th of September.

The bank has set a target of £1,000 for each cyclist taking part in this event and I would kindly ask if you would please sponsor me.
