Big Battlefield Bike Ride 2019.

Firstly... Many thanks for visiting my just giving page.

I have accepted a challenge of riding a push bike from Cherbourg to Paris on the 75th anniversary of the D-Day landings.

I am not ideally suited to doing this and people that know me will say 'How does a larger man get himself 350 miles in 5 days across Northern France in one piece?!'  But this is not about me, this is about a charity that supports those who put their lives first and foremost so people have the freedom to compete in such events.

This is about the people who protect us night and day and then cannot for many reasons.And it is about looking after them when other support runs out.

It is a token gesture on my part as I am just struggling across Northern France on a push bike...in comparison to the journey those brave folks made 75 years ago.  

This is about honouring their sacrifice and Help for Heroes is a charity I am proud to be raising money for.  Your generosity and support for all that are doing this ride is helping those who have helped to protect us all.

Help for Heroes believes that those who put their lives on the line for us, deserve a second chance at life. They provide lifetime support for the Armed Forces Community and their families. 

Today, seven people will be medically discharged from the Armed Forces and their lives will change forever. In an instant, these highly-trained individuals will lose the camaraderie, purpose and career which has been their life.
