Story
Frances and John are venturing into the Sarah Desert on a four-day trek next April. This is being organised by Helen and Douglas House, a children's hospice in Oxford, and we hope very much to raise over £1400 for the charity. We will be paying for the cost of the trip ourselves, so all of the
money raised will go straight to the charity.
When working at Larkmead School in the early ‘80s, John was involved in fundraising for Helen House as it was being set up. Our support for the charity has continued over the years and since moving back to Oxford John has been volunteering at the hospice as a receptionist. The staff at the hospice do amazing work in caring for children and teenagers who have life-limiting conditions and their families. It is a real privilege to be involved in such a worthy cause. We know that at least one member of the group
of 15 people going on the trek has benefited from the care that the hospice provides.
Thanks very much in advance for any donations you are able to make.
With love
Frances and John
