Story
Im doing a half marathon as part of a fine group, walking the Macmillan Yorkshire Dales mighty hike.
I'm doing this in honour of my ol friend Dave Turton, who I've known for over 40 years, who was diagnosed with Liver Melanoma last year and its been a massive impact on him and his family and how he deals with this is nothing short of heroic. He would regard me as a whimsical arsehole if I wax on about how I love this big fella, but he is truly a magnificent family man, friend, and always been there when I needed absolutely anything at all, and is just mighty fine company as anyone who has drank with him will know.
I'm on Strava if you want to see me build up to this; my knees are shocking so taking my time to get in shape so I don't get picked up by Mountain rescue like the last time I tried something like this. Don't fancy sliding down a hill on my backside before getting in a van again, so regular bursts of activity it is.
Anyway if you can donate anything thank you very much, much appreciated, and if we ever meet up I promise to buy you a drink and thank you and if you donate more I will promise even to be quiet for 5 whole minutes. Big love, John
