I am cycling the London 100 in August for Alzheimer's Society because I want to help find a cure for dementia.

Story

Alzheimer’s Society is transforming the landscape of dementia forever.Until the day we find a cure, we will create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice.

In 2018 I lost my mother and my mother-in-law within three weeks of each other. Both suffered from dementia in different ways and unfortunately you lose your relatives some time before they actually pass away. Its like saying goodbye to strangers, so sad.

If there is a cure then I hope you will be able to support my small effort to help try to find one. Anything you can do will be appreciated however small so don't feel embarrassed if others have given more.

I am now in my sixties and only started cycling as a hobby a few years ago. Last year I managed a 75 mile ride so I need to step up this year to reach 100. Something I am determined to do. I am eagerly awaiting the challenge of the London 100.

Thank you for your time.

John
