We fund research into digestive diseases to save lives with better treatments

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

We are trying to raise awareness of this awful disease "Acute Pancreatitis". By giving money now you will enable CORE to continue medical advances with research into a possible treatment for acute and chronic pancreatitis. So other people will not have to go through what my dad John Caddy had to endure, with no cure or treatment. Little is known about the condition, and money is desperately needed to help others. Sadly we lost our dad/grandad/husband after a month battle in intensive care. He was a fine, fit, honest and much loved man, who would do anything for anyone, and one day in January he collapsed without warning with chronic abdominal pain. He went from chatting and having a cup of tea to intensive care where he was on life support/kidney support and a host of medication, just to support his body while the acute pancreatitis took hold. We were told the body will either get through or not, there was nothing the medical team could do but sit and wait and suport his organs, so that he would have the best chance to live. Sadly, Dad, abruptly left us on the 2nd Feb 2013, not a day will go by without a wonderful memory of him for all that knew him. This will spur us on to raise as much as we can from now on, so research can progress for those that are affected in the future.

So please dig deep and donate now.
