Story

*UPDATE*  Due to the Covid19 pandemic, the organisers of the London to Brighton Cycle Ride have reluctantly decided to postpone their event until next year!

HOWEVER..... TeamBarnet have refused to be deterred and will instead now be completing CC55! Okay, so we've just invented this, but it means we're riding from Colindale to Cambridge (on a route of at least  55 miles) on Saturday 12 September 2020. We'll be setting off from London Borough of Barnet's main offices in Colindale and completing the ride unsupported (no predetermined food stations and bike repair stops waiting for us on the way!).

No, this is going to be a mix of experienced and beginner cyclists (plus a couple somewhere in between) taking on a team challenge and completing the inaugural CC55! We don't know what weather to expect yet, but it is certain to be a challenging day whatever!

Unfortunately due to restrictions caused by covid, blind cyclist Dayo and Paul L are unable to ride a tandem but Dayo is committed to doing his bit and will be riding his indoor bike at home for 4 hours at the same time.

#TeamBarnet are Dayo Adenowo, John Bailey, Anisa Darr, Andrew Charlwood, Paul Clarke, Will Hammond, Ben Jay, Paul Lawrence, Darren Smith and Amelia Stanley

About Live Unlimited:

Live Unlimited runs two schemes. The Imagination Trust provides access to hobbies, training & learning opportunities, sports & leisure activities for children in care and young care leavers in the Borough of Barnet.

The charity’s aim is for every care experienced young person in the borough to feel they can pursue interests outside of school, college or work just as their peers do, helping them to acquire new skills, feel more self-confident, improve their health & wellbeing, meet new people & develop new pathways into education and/or employment.

They do this is by buying the equipment or items the young person needs, such as the camera, the trumpet, the bike, the athletics club fees or the specialist software.

Live Unlimited also offers a scheme called Driving Ahead, a package of 30 driving lessons & the practical test for care leavers, which can be a game changer for these disadvantaged your people, improving confidence and job prospects, and reducing social isolation. Care leavers rarely learn to drive because they can’t afford the lessons and they don’t have a family car to practice in.

Every pound you donate will go towards making a positive difference to a vulnerable young person’s life.

Thank you so much for your support
