I will be running the Marathon Des Sables in Morocco In April 2011 to raise money for UNICEF. The MDS is a multi stage self-sufficiency ultra marathon across the Sahara desert covering 243km/151 miles over 7 days. In addition to that, competitors have to carry everything they will need for the duration on their backs in a rucksack (food, clothes, medical kit, sleeping bag, etc). The MDS is widely known as the toughest footrace on earth.

 

UNICEF is the world’s leading organisation working for children and their rights in more than 190 countries. UNICEF delivers health care, nutrition, education and protection to children in urgent need. UNICEF relies entirely on voluntary donations from individuals, governments, institutions and corporations.
