Story
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
There are over 2 million people in the UK suffering sight loss. Huntingdonshire Society for the Blind rely on donations to provide support to over 500 blind and partially sighted people in the old county of Huntingdonshire, now Cambridgeshire. Many members on first diagnosis can feel isolated and alone but with help from the caring people at HSFB they soon realise that they are not alone. A small team with dedicated volunteers visit members in their own homes, arrange holidays, monthly social gatherings and much more. The support given makes a real difference to the lives of many hundreds of people and any amount you are able to give will go right to the heart of this small charity.
I've decided to run the London Marathon, which is my first Marathon, for two reasons. One to raise some much needed funds for this fantastic local charity and secondly to prove to myself that I can run 26 miles (not forgetting the 385 yards!!).
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The Huntingdonshire Society For The Blind gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
Unfortunately, due to injury I have decided not to run in this years London Marathon. However I have been able to guarentee a place the 2010 Marathon and fully intend to compete fully fit. Any funds raised for this years race will be carried over and will count towards my fundraising efforts for next years race.
Thanks for your support!!
