Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

A while ago, while losing the will to live during my weekly shop at Asda, I took a selfie to highlight the terrible plight of supermarket shoppers.  It conveyed my utter sense of abject despair at the nightmare of it all.

Somehow, it caught on.  Now I have people approaching me at gigs and talking about the selfies.  If a Saturday goes by and there isn't one, people aske me why not.  It has spiralled out of all control.

So, while drunk one night, I hit upon an idea.  Why not try and raise a few quid for a good cause while being a little bit silly at the same time.

I have many friends who play in bands, and I own T-shirts of most of them.

So, for a small donation of your choosing, I will don your T-shirt in my Asda selfie, which will be shared as usual on Facebook (and also on a soon to be set up Facebook page), tagging your band and anyone else you want to be tagged.

But that's not all - this offer is open to anyone.  I will also convey a message to a person of your choosing via the medium of Asda selfies - any message that I can fit onto an A4 piece of paper will be allowed, as long as it is not offensive in any way.  Want to propose via Asda selfie?  make it so. A birthday wish for that special someone?  Can do.  They will be tagged in the post or, if I don't have them on Facebook, I'll let you know and you can tag them in it - all posts will be set to "Public", and can be shared as much or as little as folk like.

You can also choose which aisle of Asda you want your photo (sorry Simon, they don't sell mucky mags, so that one is out) and if you want a special guest appearance from my "stalker" (see previous selfies if you don't understand what that means!)

Finally, if anyone wants to get involved, make a small donation and do your own Asda selfies in any way you choose - all can be added to the Facebook page - want a band photoshoot in Asda?  Go for it (again though, keep it clean and tasteful)

If it's time sensitive, give me a date/time that it needs to be on Facebook by (you may need to give me notice as I might have to take picture in advance if I'm not going to be in Asda that day) - also, I can only do one, maybe two t-shirt ones a week as the middle of Asda is not the ideal place to be exposing my nipples mid shirt change.

So, all just a bit of stupid fun, but raising money for a cause close to my heart, and that of many of my friends. All monies donated will go directly to the Sophie Lancaster Foundation.

Let's Stamp Out Prejudice and Hatred Everywhere together.  While being just a little bit stupid at the same time.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

About the charity

Following the horrific murder of Sophie Lancaster, her family wanted to ensure a lasting legacy to their beautiful, bright creative daughter and so The Sophie Lancaster Foundation was established and it became a registered charity in 2009. We do this through various means including education.
