100 years ago Jack Johnson began carrying supplies to and from Birmingham along the A3400 by horse and cart. Nowadays Johnsons' distinctive blue and yellow coaches can be spotted on roads and motorways all across the UK, and there are 3rd generation Johnson brothers at the helm. A success story indeed - and still very much a family firm!
At Johnsons, we love to take advantage of an opportunity for celebration and what could be better than marking the occasion with the biggest fundraising endeavour we have taken on to date. The Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance require £1.4 million to operate every year but rely solely on voluntary donations. Over the course of 2009 we have held celebratory events of all kinds and can proudly say that we have generated £12,300 for this most worthy of causes.
Saturday 19th December 2009 will see our third and final major centenary event in the form of a Firework Finale on site at our depot in Henley-in-Arden. It will include funfair rides, live music, games & stalls, warming food, hot toddies, a great big bonfire and, of course, some spectacular fireworks. The fun begins at 4.30pm and will end around 7.00pm, with tickets being sold at £3.00 for adults and £2.00 for concessions.
If you haven't been able to join in any of our centenary celebrations and would like to help Johnsons in our efforts to make a difference for the WNAA...
Or if you're simply feeling particularly kind and generous today...
