In 1986 Minstead Training Trust began. In 2016 can you help us to continue our work supporting people with learning disabilties providing essential work skills and important life skills.

Story

My dad (Ian Jolliffe) has always been a runner and into statistics. So we're doing a run together and here are the stats:

This will be his 100th Marathon (if you count double marathons as two!).

He's not run a marathon in almost 10 years due to various age/running related ailments.

He's reached 70 and has been persuaded to do one more marathon if I did it with him. I planned to do one at 40, but waited for him to be 70!

This will be his 26th Isle of Wight Marathon (a marathon of marathons).

He will have competed in Isle of Wight Marathons over 6 different decades.

It will be my first (and probably my last) marathon.

We're running for the Minstead Training Trust. They have been supporting adults with learning difficulties for 30 years and give them the skills and confidence to live enriching lives in the community.

It's a special charity to us as my brother-in-law (Martin) attends as a day student.

We want to raise at least a £1 for each Isle of Wight marathon mile we've run. 26x26.2 miles for Ian and 1x26.2 miles for me, so £707.40 is our target. It's all about the numbers!

Please give generously!

Thanks Nils
