Story
Dear friends and fellow walkers,
Well we did it!
Saturday the 14th and our walk in aid of Parkinsons UK was a triumph... and in so many ways! Not only did we raise a whole lot of dosh (passed our expectations, with still more pledged), the walk itself was spectacular. We all made it and we made great new friends on the way.
We had a number of chums who walked in aid and as in my case, in memory of a family member directly effected by this dreadful disease. Making it all the more poignant for us... but we all had great fun and support whilst doing it.
So just to say many, many, many thanks for your help and good wishes. If proof were needed, it's here attached - the finish pic!
(more will be added to the just giving page shortly)
Next time the Atlas mountains, no stopping now!

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
The Jolly Events Team have organised a challenging charity walk in aid of Parkinsons UK. After extensive research, we can now guarantee we have found an exciting and varied walk, with breath-taking views in the beautiful West Sussex countryside.
When: Saturday 14th May 2011
Where: Alfriston, West Sussex
Start time: 10.00 a.m. Finish time: 6.00 p.m. (appx)
Distance: 13 miles
Essentials: Walking boots, packed lunch, raincoat/jacket, hat, sunblock (hopefully), plenty of water (or whatever you drink to keep hydrated!!!) plus £4.00 in change for the car park, which allows you to park for the whole day.
It's a circular walk starting in Alfriston village. We meet at Alfriston car park at 10.00 a.m. sharp. Please contact us for a map with directions to the village car park. Our aim is to finish the walk at around 6.00 p.m. Be advised that there is a loo in this car park, after which it's somewhat more primitive until we return to base camp.
Upon return for those of you interested, there are a few pubs in Alfriston which offer good food for the weary walker. The Jolly Events Team are planning to rest their throbbing feet, quench their thirst and sate their hunger in The George (www.thegeorge-alfrison.com). A lovely14th century inn with oodles of character and fine food (Michelin guide 2011), so if you would like to join us at The George, please let us know asap and we can book you a place too.
All money raised will be sent to Parkinsons UK to continue supporting those affected and research into the disease. Please join us for the walk on Saturday 14th May or donate generously.
This very worthy cause so please dig deep and donate now.
