Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Back in April 2016 Abbey and her family were hit with the awful news that her 16 year old young son Fraser had leukaemia. Abbey and her family are fighting this treadful illness with huge positivity.

As a friend of Abbey's I felt completely useless when I heard the news, but now I do have the chance to help in a small way by raising funds for the charity that has helped Abbey and her family through this tough time.

Please spare what you can and sponsor our team to walk the 50k in September.

A note from Abbey -

"Having a child diagnosed with cancer is utterly terrifying, it really is every parents worst nightmare. However, the support we have received from friends and family has been quite overwhelming. We are also enormously grateful to our wonderful 24/7 NHS (yes it does exist) for taking such good care of Fraser.

Fraser's battle is far from over but we feel it's time to start paying back the debt. Children's Cancer charity CLIC Sargent have supported us in so many ways, particularly when Fraser has had long stays in Bristol. They have provided us with a 'Home from Home' facility where we have had our own front door, a lounge bathroom kitchen and bedroom, our own 'City Pad' where we can escape to after a long day in the hospital, somewhere we can feel safe, somewhere we can take stock and prepare for the next day. This has been completely free of charge and has meant that we can stay really close by whilst also giving Fraser a little space to himself when he is well enough to be left. Sharing your bedroom with your Mum when your 17 just isn't normal, poor lad!

In September 2017 we shall be taking part in a 50k charity walk along the Thames Path from London to Runnymede in Surrey. There are both shorter and longer distances available as well as running/jogging for those 'Fitties' amongst us. So far 'Fraser's Fabulous Foot Soldiers' have 15 signed up members but there is ample room for more and we would love to see our army grow even bigger"
