Story
In February of this year my dad was diagnosed with terminal cancer. For those who knew my dad you can imagine the devastation this caused as he was a proud, strong man who could not bear the thought of not being able to spend his retirement with my mum watching his 4 beautiful granddaughters grow up.
From the moment he found out he decided he wanted to spend his last few days at Myton Hospice and this is what he did.
After 6 months he made his final journey to Myton Hospice in Warwick where they looked after him with grace and dignity. He was treated as he should have been, as a husband, dad and Papa, not as someone who was dying. The staff were amazing and not only supported my dad but also us as a family, in particular my mum. It is hard to believe the work they do is funded by charitable donations and fundraising given what they do is so important so this is why I have decided to abseil down Coventry Cathedral to help to raise money for them
My dad was a wonderful man. He was strong, courageous, fearless and full of love for his family. By sponsoring me you will be helping my family and I to honour his memory and I hope I can be as strong, courageous and fearless as him on Saturday 13th October
Thank you
Jo
