Story
We are not the most light footed pair of athletes to grace the parks and tracks of Llanelli, but we thought instead of giving something up for Lent we'd try to do something positive in the place of the usual birching.
Many of us will experience a mental health condition in our lifetime and the pandemic has compounded problems by creating barriers to accessing support and care, increased loneliness and isolation and shaken our usual support networks. Llanelli Mind provide so much kindness and support to many in the community, so we'd like to contribute in some small way over the next 40 days.
Jon has faced ongoing challenges with his mental health since the loss of his father in 2011. It has led to him experiencing acute episodes depression and anxiety, which have not always been easy to manage through. We hope by doing this fundraiser, we can inform people about mental wellbeing and support others to talk more openly about their experiences.
We're going to run 100 miles (exercising from home) over the next 40 days in all climes. Please consider donating - even if it's to force Jon outside in the rain and cold!
