Story
Many thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am cycling London to Brighton (55 miles) for the first time on 11 Sept 2022 to raise money for this very worthy cause. I am still fairly new to cycling so this will be my longest ride by approximately 25 country miles.
The Catering, Hospitality & Education Foundation (C.H.E.F) is a charity set up by Tessa and Wayne, local friends who have been willing to move beyond the rhetoric of helping people less fortunate than themselves (something I know I am guilty of) to actively making a difference. They spent time in Lesotho and decided to create a catering school to provide skills and encourage start-up businesses such that the people can work there way out of poverty and financial hardship. It’s now been successfully running and helping the 1 in 4 people stuck in poverty since 2013.
If either the thought of me struggling up Ditchling Beacon or supporting this very worthy cause appeals to you, please do donate. I’ve covered the minimum donation requirement personally, so anything you are willing to donate will be a big bonus to this small charity.
I’d prefer to have many small donations, together with the occasional ‘constructive’ cycling tip, than fewer large donations - at least then I can pretend to my two cycle buddies (James and Henry pictured) that I have some friends. Please donate as little or as much as you’d like. I look forward to the witticism's to keep me motivated….
