The Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) is leading a movement against suicide, the single biggest killer of men under the age of 45 in the UK. Anyone can hit crisis point. CALM run a free and confidential helpline and webchat 7 hours a day, 7 days a week for anyone who needs to talk about life's problems. 

I've often thought that CALM do extraordinary work so I figured there's no better time than now to try and help them help others. These are increasingly difficult and challenging times for us all. We're adapting to a new way of living and working, with many of us cut off and isolated from friends and family. Many people won't have been able to depend on their usual support networks in times of need and owing to this, CALM have experienced record-breaking demand - answering 20,000 calls and directly preventing 80 suicides since lockdown begun in the UK. That's incredible work. 

CALM CEO Simon Gunning:

"The nature of the calls we’ve received has changed just as much as our circumstances have. We’ve spoken to frontline workers dealing with traumatic situations everyday, while also contending with their own worries and anxieties. We’ve spoken to people who are feeling confused, nervous, angry, frustrated and helpless, as well as people facing difficult life situations. We’ve spoken to those in strained relationships and with nowhere to go, to people who have suffered domestic abuse, and to people whose anxiety continues to rise because of the uncertainty or loneliness they are facing. We have talked people through job-loss, grief and health concerns, providing practical support to anyone who needs it." 

Simon sums up how supporting CALM is supporting life-changing and live-saving work so I'm not even sure if this challenge is possible but I'm going to do it and if you have some spare change, support a great cause! lets goooo!!
