On the 12^th June, after months of training, I shall be swimming 10km through the cold waters of Lake Windermere to raise money for the Family Haven.  I have got to know the Family Haven through my work as a financial adviser.  Since the start of the year Prosser Knowles has been a corporate sponsor to the charity and I have got to know the people that work there and learned more about the valuable work they
do.  The Family Haven helps vulnerable families in the Gloucestershire area.  The families are often homeless or living in unsuitable accommodation or stuck in the poverty loop. The charity provides a day centre where there is registered nursery which offers nursery education, respite and crèche facilities. They also provide laundry and bathing facilities, hot midday meals, parenting classes and provides mutual support and buddying to fight isolation.   The work they do is key to making family lives and the lives of children better.  If you would like to make a donation, your support would be gratefully appreciated.
