We support Leeds Teaching Hospitals staff to deliver the best care for our patients

Story

I’m cycling my first ever Sportive and I’m riding for Leeds Cares . So there’s nothing quite like starting with the UCI World Championship Sportive here In Yorkshire.

Leeds Cares does great work throughout the City and the Trust. They have supported the Cardiothoracic services several times in the past and this has really improved patient experience and outcomes.

I’m also riding in memory of Professor Mohan Sivananthan, friend and colleague, who sadly died earlier this year. Mohan was at the forefront of Interventional Cardiology and Cardiac Imaging and his presence is much missed in the Cath labs at the Leeds General Infirmary.

As my friend  said, he would have hated a long bike ride but would have loved the fact that we are all doing it.
