Jonathan's Raise the Roof charity walk to Rome

Jonathan Dutton is raising money for Friends of St Peter’s Church Winterbourne Stoke

Raise the Roof charity walk to Rome · 22 August 2021

Friends of St Peter’s Church Winterbourne Stoke was established as an independent charity to assist with the repair and general upkeep of the church - and now to make it suitable for other village events in addition to regular worship.

Story

Hi and welcome to my Just Giving page!

My name is Jonathan Dutton. I live with my wife Olivia and our 2 dogs, Islay and Puzzle in the small village of Winterbourne Stoke in Wiltshire, 4 miles from Stonehenge. I am the treasurer of our village church of St Peter's, which is in urgent need of repairs to its leaking roof.

In order to raise the funds required to repair the roof and enable St Peter's to remain open for worship as well as baptisms, weddings and funerals, I am embarking on 1,500 mile walk to Canterbury along the Clarendon and Pilgrims' Way and thence across Europe to Rome along the Via Francigena, an historic pilgrim route.

Anything you can contribute to the 'Raise the Roof' fund raising appeal would be hugely appreciated. All funds raised will go to the Friends of St Peter's charity whose primary purpose is to maintain and restore the fabric of St Peter's.
