Wiggle Mountain Mayhem · 23 June 2012

We’re the UK’s leading charity for Crohn’s and Colitis. Right now, over 500,000 people in the UK are living with a lifelong disease that many people have never heard of. We’re working to improve diagnosis and treatment; to fund research and to raise awareness.

Story

Hi, my name is Jon Ransted, and I am taking part in the Wiggle Mountain Mayhem 24 hour cycling endurance race. I will be part of a 10 person team cycling around a 9 mile course in the grounds of Eastnor Castle. We start at 12pm on Saturday 23rd of June and finish at 12pm on Sunday 24th June. We will take it in turn to complete each lap.

The reason I am taking part in this event is partly a personal challenge, but also because I would like to raise some money for the charity Crohn's and Colitis UK. This charity has a personal meaning to me, because my sister Lizzie was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis a few years ago. She has suffered greatly with this illness and is a very brave person. She has inspired me to push myself to the limit -probably quite literally!

So although I am not quite sure what I have got myself into - I aim to complete this challenge and make my sister proud. I would like to raise £300 for the charity, and anything you could spare to donate will make it all worth it!

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Jon
