Story
London's Air Ambulance has issued the #helicopterchallenge, as part of the TwoPointSixChallenge.
London's Air Ambulance provides rapid response and cutting edge care to the people of London 24x7, when they need it the most. That service has continued throughout Covid, and sadly is needed irrespective of lockdown.
Like many charities, our fundraising has been hit by Covid, but our service continues regardless.
That's why every little donation helps, and I will be undertaking the #helicopterchallenge exercise, attempting 26 repetitions of something that isnt easy for an overweight 49 year old. Will be done "live" on Sunday at 2pm.
Just to make it that bit harder, I will attempt to walk a marathon round the garden, aiming to finish at 2pm. Obviously completely untrained, and carrying "lockdown diet" weight. My average daily steps are 1,700, and a marathon is around 55,000. I think it is approximately 1,000 laps of the garden.
Doing it in honour of the marathon runners who haven't got the chance to hit the streets on Sunday: Christopher, Will, Bob, Fay, Heather, Matt, Jake, Olivia, Thomas, Jamie, Sally, Samuel, Helen, Arthur, Kathryn, Stacey, Cheryl, Tony, Daniel, Elizabeth, Charlie, Jake, Paul, Charlotte, Bradley, Alex, Andrew, Chloe, Freddie, Jessica, Karen, Catriona, Mark, Zac & Jess, Rhiannon, Matthew, Jade and Victoria.
