Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. I have set up this page to make it easier to raise money for Bury Cancer Support. They were a great help and support for my brother Jonathan during his fight with cancer and I know how much Jonathan valued the wonderful work they do. During his remarkable life he always gave so much to others and as a very successful physiotherapist the centre gave him a chance to continue to give to others even when he was ill. They offer all kinds of essential support for cancer patients, their immediate families, and their carers including complementary therapies and counselling, and provide a safe friendly place to get help and advice. Every day I miss my incredible brother. He was such a generous man who always had time for others and always managed to find the positive in any situation. He taught so many of us to attack life with a smile and never to waste a single second of our precious time. I do my best to live up to his amazing example and am trying to do the things I think would make him proud. Running has become a way for me to honour my brothers spirit and I always see his inspiring grin when my head starts to drop. As most of you will know last year I ran around the streets of London to complete the Marathon and was absolutely delighted to raise £5000 for Bury Cancer Support. I was over the moon when soon after this the charity asked me to become a patron. This is a great honour and so to celebrate I will be taking part in the 2009 London Marathon! And this time I mean business! I want to take the fundraising total to £10000 and I am determined not to be overtaken by anyone who is running backwards or who is dressed as an apple, and will not be caught holding hands with the bloke in the divers outfit as I cross the finishing line! This year I am running to raise money for two charities. I am running for Leukemia research as part of their running team and for Bury Cancer Support. I have set up this page specifically to raise money for Bury Cancer Support Centre on behalf of Jon.
