My son, Alex, was diagnosed with Cancer in his brain (a glioblastoma) back in December 2016 when he was aged 12.

Story

Alex passed away on 23 December 2017 #RIPAlex

I am running the Brighton marathon in April 2018. With a group of friends, we are running together to support CLIC Sargent.

Inspiration for this charity and every run I do is Alex (13). After being diagnosed with cancer he chose to live life to the full, he didn’t give up but instead tried to live a lifetime of experiences in the short time he had left. His courage and lust for life is an inspiration for whatever the challenge to live for now and be the best person you can be all the time. His parents will be running the marathon as part of our team. #RunforAlex

CLIC Sargent supports families going through the unimaginable. Young people suffering from this terrible disease often have to travel far from home to be treated at specialist centres. CLIC Sargent suppprts families by providing specialist nursing care, financial help, free temporary accommodation in a CLIC Sargent home close to a treatment centre and help by bereavement. They provide help in understanding childhood cancer.
