Story
I have created a charity single called Horizons it’s release date will be on 24/04/20 and can be found on Spotify iTunes google play and many more!
I recorded this song because I’ve always loved music and over the last couple of years I’ve had lots of people asking to record my own song. Due to the amount of money I raised last Christmas from my rendition of Jingle Bells, I set a goal in my head to raise even more for charity!
I worked on the Horizons single with my sister Louise and it’s about me and my journey with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. Duchenne is a serious muscle wasting condition mainly affecting boys, I stopped walking at age 11. Our life expectancy isn't very long as your heart and lungs are muscles and also weakened.
My musical influences range from Frank Sinatra to singer-songwriters like Alec Benjamin. It was meeting Alec at his show in Cardiff and talking about touring and music that made me think ‘I really want this for myself!’ That gave me the bit of motivation I needed to drive myself to do it, so a massive thanks to Alec!!
I feel very lucky to make it to 21 and that’s why I am proud to support Action Duchenne, a charity whose vision is for a world where lives are no longer limited by Duchenne. They provide support to families during difficult times. Your support for my song Horizons will help them continue their important work.
