It was a brilliant day on Sunday with many people cheering all the way when they saw the Forces Children's Trust logo on my shirt. Somehow I did manage to complete the marathon in under 4 hours with a time of 3 hours 54 minutes and 4 seconds.
Seeing others moving around with varying disabilities made it yet again an enormously humbling event.
I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who supported such a fantastic cause and I hope we can all continue to support the Forces Children's Trust.
Thank you.
Jon
Following my run of last year I intend to run the London Marathon again this year on Sunday April 25th in aid of the Forces Children's Trust.
The Forces Children’s Trust is a charity devoted to helping dependent children that have lost a parent whilst serving with the Armed Forces.I have a personal interest in the trust as my nephew is serving in the Mercian Regiment, he has two very young children who like so many other children would bare the unimaginable thought of facing the future without a parent should Ben be fatally injured during the times he is deployed in Afghanistan. The men and women of our Armed Forces are willing to give the ultimate sacrafice, their families are themselves incredibly brave and inspirational, this fantastic charity provides help and support that these children need at such a difficult time.

You can write a rather uncomplimentary anecdote about me or even Derby County the finest football club in the country when you donate your sponsorship. This is a small charity that does those things that make a real difference to these Children at such an awful and tragic time. Please donate and thank you for every penny that is given. Last year we raised an incredible amount of money for Motor Neurone Disease Research in support of John MacDowall, I hope we can achieve somewhere near the same success. Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now.
