I decided after seeing a number of my collegues complete the Great Manchester Run, that this year I would do it myself and in the process raise some money for a great cause.

Running was not something I had ever enjoyed and was only ever done under duress, so I started training early and hit the road back in July 2013, well it went better than expected and I did a test 10K event at the Tatton Park Yule Yomp in December clocking up 59:04. However my sights have been firmly set on the Great Manchester Run, I am aiming for a time of 57 minutes and have kept the training up over the last 2 months of horrible weather, abliet much shorter runs.
