Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
From day one, here at Jones & Co we made the decision to support local charities whenever and however we could. Over the years, the team has raised thousands of pounds for worthwhile causes and this year is no different.
We chose to raise money for The Sick Children’s Trust in 2019, The Sick Children's Trust is a national charity that was founded in 1982. It provides 'Home from Home' accommodation at hospitals throughout the UK and firmly believes in keeping families together as research has proved that delivering care in this way significantly improves the recovery of seriously ill children.
This fantastic charity enables parents to stay close to their children whilst treatment and recovery takes place. This proved invaluable for Marcus Leverton, a friend of Jones & Co, whose son Harry was very poorly when he was just 19 months old. Harry was initially admitted to intensive care and then to the specialist unit in Sheffield Children's Hospital. The Sick Children's Trust were there to provide the special ‘Home from Home accommodation for Harry's family, to be with him to give him much needed support to aid his recovery.
As such, we chose to support this great charity and I made the choice to take
part in five endurance events throughout the year. I’ve already completed the following four events and now have one more to tick off the list!
February: Northumberland Coastal Ultra Marathon (60km run) – DONE!
May: Velo Birmingham 100-mile Cycling Event – DONE!
June: Snowdon Summit and Descent (Crib Goch route) – DONE!
July: Holkham Half Ironman – DONE!
October: Ironman Barcelona
